Sounds like desert racing. Its what you don't see that breaks your bones....
You can say that again... I hate it when that happens...Your speeding along and then all of a sudden your flying through the air with the greatest of ease....and you have no clue why...

Ok
I thought this post was a joke, but after reading it I had to reply.
I am from Cali. First to compare is unfair to all, there are great riders everywhere.
What bugged me and caused me to write were the comments about no National here in Cali, and that we would never get one (see 2003 post) You should have read the 2004 National Schedule!
We had the opener!!! Glen Helen in San Bernardino on Feb 7-8 2004. In Fact the biggest pro turnout ever!!! Take that! First one in 18 years and guaranteed it will be back. I talked to Banger (the announcer) and he was so impressed by the turn out! The initial thought was that about only up to 200 entries would sign up, BUT...we got over 470 entries! It was awesome!
AND IT WAS WON BY A CALI! KORY ELLIS #53
Then to say there are not jumps over 50', I invite you to come to Glen Helen and ride the National Track.
Read the new Dirt Wheels May 2004 edition to get the scoop on the race and the Track.
Anyway, there is my 2 cents for what it is worth! We cant wait to come back East to race, and it is never a thought to insult the Easteners! Our camp welcomed them at Glen Helen, it was so great to meet riders from different parts of the Country that love what we love! TO RACE QUADS!!!!!!
Another great series here on the West, ITP Quadcross (itpquadcross.com) ! Check this series out! Has the quad heads spinning!
RACE ON!!!

I'm sure we were all joking. The "crap talking" thread invited it to be that way.
I was at G/H and did race. I have raced on better and worse. Not a bad track for amatures.
I did miss seeing the pro's fly thru the air like they do at Red Bud, Mt.Morris, and London Ky.
Mount Saint Helen sure did look intimidating, but I watched a track quad (old Honda rough rider) putt right up it.
Yes the pro turnout was cool. Be even cooler if the part time pro's (Eichner,Sundahl,my old buddy Jeremy Schell, etc.) would come to the rest of the nationals.I was impressed to see Sundahl qualify.
Dirt wheels..Don't go there! If DW said Canada was up north, I'd get a map. THEN, after John Pellan(Fast Track Promotions) got the ball rolling to get a national out west, he was given the boot and all of a sudden Cain Smead took all the credit for getting the national out west. Phooey on DW and Smead!
Anyways,,did you (yfzgal) race the womens class? A or B/C? Angela and Heather fly, don't they!?!
