as other people have said oyu have to earn it or by some stroke of luck find some one who is willing to take a chance. just because you race and do well dosent mean that you'll get a sponser. it takes the right aditude and you have to present your self in a good maner. it may not be as big as nascar but its the same game.

I have been racing sprint cars for twelve years and battle this every season. You need a billboard and a quad is a terrible bill board. An enclosed trailer is expensive, but if you have one that is a major selling point. Approach it like, "this is what I can do for you, name on the side of a trailer, pass out flyers at the races, display quad at their business, XX number of people will see this advertisment, etc." 80% of the sponsors that I have gotten over the years have been from freinds and freinds of freinds. I know that's not what you want to hear, but that is the facts. I have made cold calls so many times and never once has anything turned up. Face to face with the shop with pictures and a written explanation of what you have and what you can do for them will give you much more sucess. It is easy to say NO to someone over the phone.
Good luck, it is tough. Another thing, make sure you try and talk to the owner (have a schedule ready).

It is a total hit a miss situation. I had a bunch of sponsors at one time, all giving discounts and such. What we really needed was a cash sponsor, willing to pay the bucks for the given advertisment. Never got one.

I dont even look for sponsorship anymore. Basically it was and is a waste of time and effort for most people.

You need a proven history of winning, good attitude, a snazzy resume and LOTS of luck to land a REAL sponsor.

Just ride, RIDE, and RIDE like crazy. If anyone really does ride everyday, riding would be on their mind, how they can get better themselves. Their skills, what they can do to ride better. If someone rides everyday, "sponsor...sponsor...sponsor" is the last damn thing on their mind. Skill. IF YOU BUILD IT, THEY WILL COME.

Yeah, I never wanted a sponsor till I rode almost every day and needed to repair my bike and had NO money to do it. So since then it has sat in my garage while I try to save up the cash to fix it.
