Hey Matt:
I know a couple of guys with stock Warriors that like to race.... Let me know when you'll be in the Sacramento area and maybe we could set something up!

Mudda,
No, I'm not going to say don't race. If you simply can't go for a full race 250r or whatever, race what you got! as long as you realize your limitations. The first & most obvious change would be to your suspension, especially the front. As a big fan of the TCS shock, I have to recommend that addition. Aside from the vast improvement they offer over stock they include cans, which will help a lot in eliminating or at least reducing fade from heat buildup in mx. You may want to experiment with dropping a tooth on your c/s sprocket to give you a quicker jump from the gate. Tires, another must replace item if you still have the stock slip & slides. My quick math shows about $900 so far, so I'll quit there & let you digest that figure.

Well right now the tires are bandits (21x7x10) on the front and some rear otshu tires ( 22x10x9) they are pretty good but probably not the best i'll def change the shocks.umm dumb question but which is the C/S sprocket ( iv only had it for 4-5 days but iv gotten very good at handleing it feels like and looks like iv been rideing it for years) are the mods i have already a good start ?

The counter-shaft sprocket is the front sprocket. I wouldn't change the size of it. You can get of of the line quick enough in first. I have a 1 tooth bigger on mine, but I have a cam, ported and polished high compression engine in it. If you drop the tooth size on front you will loose top end speed. If the dirt on the starting gate is very loose you could probably take off in 2nd, but if it is muddy you will have to take off in 1st. I would also reccomend getting a prodesing filter set up so that you dont suck soem dirt in your engine adn have to rebuild it. The bandits are good tires, but they are kinda heavy for racing. The ohtsu are good also. Hope I helped

I understand you when it comes to racing Warrior. I sound weird to some people but I don't know why. When I get back home in Las Vegas I plan to race my Warrior with stock suspension. I know it sounds a little bit crazy, but I've hit 50-60ft long jumps and like 15ft in the air. Of course the landings hurt a little but not enough to stop me. All I say is go for it and race Warrior 'cause that is what I'm gonna do.

I maily am a woods racer but some of our races take part on a mx track plus in my off time i play ion mx tracks. your front tires are a good pick but the 22 inch rears have to go. if you can aford to get tires and wheels get some 18 inch rears but make sure you get good wheels like itp race wheels with reinfocing rings. I tried a set of red lable wheels and destoryed one of them the first race i use them in(landed a little to hard of a double. went from first to dead last) you can use you stock rear wheels with a set of 20 shredders and that will work well also( i've had good luck with shedders on mx tracks) I'd keep the gearing stock because you haven't got enough motor to pull any thing bigger and going smaller with hurt you because of the the way warroirs make thier power. For shocks spend as much as you can afford on them because they are the most inprotant part of the bike andyou get what you pay for. when buying you shocks be honest with the salesperson. most people who start racing think they are a lot better than they real are and the shocks get set up for an A level rider when they are only a b rider at best(I don't meant insult any one its just something that i see all to often.) there is somuch to building these bike that i could go on for a log long time so if you have any questions e-mail me at YFMRACER@metallica.com
