what are the pros and cons for longtravel a arms
advantages: smoother ride, better traction (more sag with more travel, so ur tires stay on the ground more, even when the trail suddenly drops off), and more upward travel for smoother landings.
cons: some long travel kits raise the ride height and create a lot of body roll, and they cost a lot.
my opinion: i wish i could afford a long travel front end. i would get a lobo II front end, or a gibson front end. the A-arms are designed to give a lot of travel, while keeping a low ride height for awesome cornering. then i'd get ELKA quad rate shocks with slow/fast damping adjusters, as well as threaded pre-load and rebound adjusters. they will absorb all hits, and create an awesome ride. also, the shock companies build the shocks to your sepcifications, and the type of riding u do, so they will work awesome for trails if u have them built that way.

they shouldn't be. that's part of what the shock company does, they adjust the pre-load on the shocks so that that shouldn't be a problem. however, if ur gonna spend the money on all these high dollar components, i would also get a full body skid plate, and a-arm skid plates, especially if you ride through any rocky areas. i would reccomend the AC Racing full chasis skid plate, it wraps up in front of the front bumper adding a lil x-tra protection.
