LT, I agree completely!!!!! The shifters are motorcycle engine powered machines that are only available to a few people with big $$. If there were classes that were automatics only with various mod levels, we would see the sport grow. We could also add a "claiming" rule just like the AMA.

On the JEHM, I talked to someone at the AMA and they said the pipe thing was "within" the rules if the companys were the same.

Since the HellT has the bone stock advantage, I am currently trying to get a deal together with Kasea to make the Skyhawk 90R. It will be a factory racer and will dominate the GNC.

The only rules I like with the AMA would be related to fuel and those rules should be changed to make it illegal to run any leaded fuels in the youth classes. We don't need 6 grams of lead per gallon in our kid's lungs.

I know 90 mod class is expensive but how can you really expect most 12-16 year olds to fit on the LTs and Kaseas. Those machines are built for 8 year olds. If all the kids had to race on those i really think we would be holding them back.

But if the 90 mod class was abolished, i really think the air cooled class should take the place of it and let 12-16 year olds race it.

GREAT! Yet another person w/common sence enough to realize that most 12-15 yr olds are too big for the lil quads. Now to convince the AMA lawyers of it! Thats where the problem is.They were even told of states and local type racing organizations have lowered or eliminated the age rules."But we are going to get sued" is the excuse year after year.I guess I/we should do what Tom Prendergast recommended to me~~~SHUT UP ABOUT IT and get elected to my AMA region so that we(quad ppl) will have a voice, not to mention the crucial vote that really counts.ANY VOULUNTEERS???? politics makes my head hurt <G>

In New Zealand, the junior ATV class has a maximum age of 12 years. Kids race LT 80's and the few Korean quads like Aeon. The TRX 90 wasn't sold down here. Over age 12, the kids race up to 200cc two stroke, 300cc 4 stroke, up to age 16. Over 16, anything goes. You are quite right that the 80's are for little kids.
