thanXxX ummm i was already thinkin about trading in the lakota and gettin a differnt quad w/ a clutch like maybe a 300EX or sumthin..........should i or should i just stay the the lakota?

man thats all up to you,i mean the lakota is a nice bike and can get the job done almost as well as the 300ex.You will also lose money by getting the 300ex.But having a newer better quad is always nicer and the 300ex is better at a few things like in weight,suspension,and manual clutch.

In AMA santioned races at 14 you can race whats called the "200-300 air cooled class". The common machines are blasters and 300ex's.
As for requirements, nerf bars and tether switch's are mandatory just like a helmet and chest protector. The other guy is correct in saying about long sleeves.
18" tires are the norm for MX.
My boy moved up from LT80's to the 300ex and loves it. It's pretty fast stock too compared to a blaster in stock form.
The 300ex gets my vote for dependability and stock speed.
