Rappys are generally too big of a motor for the pros(they need max of 450cc)......but for the rest of us, they are probably too tippy and might have too much power(if this is even possible)........
You do see some, but the ones you see have widened out a-arms and axles......

It takes a lot of money to make a Raptor "competitive" and even then, it's still harder to ride fast. A Raptor wears out most MX riders, you really have to wrestle it around the track. I would think a Raptor would make a good XC machine as long as the course wasn't too tight, then it might be too top heavy.

My boyfriend has been succesfully racing his Raptor in MX for 3 years.......it's set up for MX - yes....but then....so is every other quad out there (except mine! LOL!). It is possible to race the beasts - and do well at it - but I think it takes a certain type of rider to do it.

I have been muscling my Raptor around my practice track with no problems. It has full LSR and Works suspension, but I still have to throw it around. I have no problem with it. I smoke my cousin on his suspended Z400, particularly in tight turns. My track is smaller than the local tracks around here, so when I do take her out on a track with sweeper and off-camber corners, my @$$ is gone.
