what is the most HP ever on an atv...without NOS that you have heard of?

What exactly are you asking because that is a vague question. You mean just without Nitrous Oxide or without other power boosters? What about alky engines? 2 stroke or 4 stroke? Pump gas only? Stroked, ported , polished, Chevy V8 on a home chopped banshee??? LOL!

What about most HP that is actually rideable in any sitaution? Cruising, drag racing, hill climbing, jumping, some MX. Also has to be reliable, consistent, etc.

 

Hey MOLDY... if they can stick a small block chevy on a motorcycle frame ( Boss Hog ), someone could certainly stuff one in a quad... ( obviously not a machine you would jump... ) I pulled & dragged against several quads claiming over 200 horses, several weeks ago, in central Wisconsin... they either had MC motors on alki, or huge bores on 2 stroke snowmobile motors...

I've been considering a long term project involving one of these motors... either a 750cc 2 stroke tripple MC motor, my 500 cc 2 stroke snowmobile motor, or lately I've been dreaming about installing a fuel injected RX - 8 rotory motor in a quad... a very small but powerful motor, not radical but reliable, & pushing over 200 horses ??? hey, it would be a fraction of the size & weight of a small block Chevy...LOL...

 

ya, but nothing sounds like a small block chevy threw straight pipes, other than a flathead

 

It is said that the Rx7 is coming out in a few years, so I guess the new rotary is back for a while... maybe you are on to something there... LOL!

 

The rx8 has been out for a while now.
