best trail quad
My Z does great on the trails. The only thing i dont like is that 1st gear is kinda high and i have to feather the clutch in the tight areas, but other than that i have yet to get mine stuck anywhere. and whoever said the 450r makes a great trail quad i have to ask, how do you like your human reverse gear?

hey i got a 250ex and i ride with a 500sportsman and a 500 scrambler(both are 99'(father and son) i ride with them like everyday we play tag and they cant catch me... my quad handles like a dream so the think they have me and wam... im gone... when we do play tag we run the roads and the trails.... trees do like to jump out in front of us but i always lose them in the trails.. i cant out-climb the scrambler so i lose him that way.. i can squeeze through tight places to lose the sportman.. half the time im riding wheelies up the hills..... and... i dont have to use a clutch so its much easier to get away from the automatics.... Thats IMO... but the driver has alot to do with how well the quad runs..,., and climbs...

The warrior is nice, but doesnt handle like the 300 let alone the 400ex. Its too expensive to be put in the lower category and doesnt have the power to be in the 400cc class.
The 400ex has lots of nice, useable low end that is great for putting around in the trails and still has plenty of power for wide open trails. The z is great but I like the low end.
The pred is also a good machine, but I dont find it as comfortable nor do I like the lack of low end compared to the raptor. The raptor also is easy to fit into tight trails where you are typically restricted to a 300/350 sized machine. I would put the kfx700 in the mix too because its the ultimate cruiser.
But these are just my opinions and preferences, I'm sure many will disagree.

I have a 300EX and it is great on trails. but not much power at all. thats why im selling it for a Z400. My boyfriend has a Z, with an White bros, E-series slip on Exaust, and it is an excellent quad all around, no matter what your doing. id go with the Z, IMO. Melinda Rae.
