We could have had a new track to ride on in the 2005 season. Sacramento raceway had a race this weekend, if there was a good number of quads that showed they would continued quads in the 2005 season "8 riders is not a good turn out!!" the track was awsome. people were saying it was about 1 1/4 miles long. It sure felt like it was.
I think too many people complain about not enough tracks and stuff like that and do nothing to help the situation. It would have been so easy to make quads a regular part of next years series.
Thanks StillRacinA250r for making it possible to race. I won't make it so easy on you next time. The track was fun.

Thanks Tom for coming out and supporting my effort and giving me a run for my money. Even though it was a poor turn out, I think everyone had a good time. You couldn't ask for a much nicer day except maybe a little warmer in the a.m. but hey its winter time. I was definately rusty and I am definately felling my age today, If you know what I mean! (LOL) I'll keep pushing for the quad classes and hope for the best but the promoter was also disappointed in the turn-out. So, we'll see.

To expect quads to just show up isn't fair. The promotor needs to run quads and then the word would go out that they have a place to race.

Don't give up on just 1 race. Rome wasn't built in 1 day. When my son started racing mini quads last year there were just 2 or 3 mini's in the 50 class and about 8 in the 90 class. That was last year. This year they averaged about 8 50's and around 25 90's. The GNCC Nationals tried a trial race in the Ironman race. They only gave us a 2 weeks notice for mini quad racing. There were 33 of us who showed up. Now in the 05 GNCC series we have a 5 race National series to race. So don't give up just yet. Remember the old saying "If you build it they will come".

LT80 and Bluetickracing are right when Riverfront in Marysville started it took more then 1 race to get a good turn out. Even though you posted your race day first , never the less other races were going on that day even the dirt bikes weren't as big of a turn out as usaul I understand. With a little bit more word of mouth and on a better weekend it would be a good turn out. There were 25 quads at opening day at E-street , Marysville a couple weeks ago. Not to mention nobody new you guys were going to step up the track like that. That track was a blast I can't wait to get on it again!
I want a rematch Jerry. I know the owners out there maybe we need to have a one on one !!

You're all right- you can't give up after one race. If the promotor is suggesting that, its to bad. It was just a bad weekend - There was to many races going on. I wanted to go and I had to think about it pretty hard. My sponsor was at the Atwater Cycle park for opening day and they wanted me out there to show and help. I ended there. You know you don't let a sponsor down. There also was the Mutant race at Club Moto, ITP in Glen Helen, CMA in Hanford and the BITD in Vegas. A lot of the guys, pro and semi pros that I know went down south. But all that I had talked to said that it would be great to have a track in Sacramento, but no one wanted to give up their points and upset their sponsors that weekend. Most said that they would show up if there were going to be races and it didn't comflict with the CMC, ITP, or CMA schedule.

To Bad though, maybe if the promotor can look into the scheduling for next year and come up with a good weekend and promote it with the local quad shops, he might get a better response.

I haven't givin up yet. But its going to be a uphill battle. Our series runs friday nights normally and will start back up in april. Shouldn't conflict with other races due to running on friday nights but we are also very limited on time so starting a new class(es) will be very hard since we have such a big motorcycle turnout. I completely understand riders going to other tracks and following their series. Been there, it just would have been nice to see a bigger quad turnout.
5150Tom if want a rematch, I'm thinking of going to sand hill next weekend, weather permitting. Always enjoy a little friendly competition. Looked like you went riding this weekend. Practicing?

You said that you are going to Sand Hill this weekend - Are you going for the Round 1 CMC MX Nationals on Sunday? If so have you been running CMC Northern in the past. What is the competition like and how many quads show?

Yeh, thats the one. I haven't been racing for a couple of years except for last weekend. In fact last weekend was the first time i"ve even sat on the bike for a year. From what I remember, it has always been a good turn out and were a few excellent riders but I'm sure the competition has gotten better over the years. Mutant is also having a race that weekend so who knows how good of a turnout it will actually be. I haven't been to sand hill yet but up in marysville(cmc event) there has been at least 20-25 minimum and expect the same at sand hill if not more.

Ya I went riding this weekend very expensive trip!!
Off work for a couple weeks. grab bar bent down, steering stem bent and smashed onto the gas tank the handlebars are raped around the gas tank and my right lower a-arm is bent, that is just what I can see now I will start wrenching on it in a few does when I'm not feeling so sore. Thank goodness for safety gear I had everything on.
