hi this is a question about the 450r and the yfz450 reliability i know honda stuck the 450 dirtbike motor in an atv frame and made the 450r but hasn't there been many problems with that motor in the dirtdike i heard there really bad motors and wondering if anyone has had any problems with the motor? also yamaha has had there 450 motor also longer than honda has and they have had time to profect it how is it holding up also??

one more why is the yamaha faster it has electric start and it weighs more than the honda and the honda is kick start whats up??

Because the R engine is tamed a bit compared to the yfz's race like motor.

The honda 450 bike motor and quad motor are two driffernt motors. They build the quad one special unlike yamaha who just used the bike motor.

Motors build power in different ways that make the Yamaha feel faster. The Yamaha hits real hard and the Honda is more smoth. They are kind of set up for different riding from the factory, the Yamaha for MX and the Honda for XC altough both can be set up for either with mods.
