good, thats exactly the setup i have now.

 

just go sign up and race!! I'm 33 and have been desert racing for 2 years now, so go for it your still one of those young guys that us old farts are struggling against. Enjoy it now before you hit your 30's and your recooperation tripples!! It sucks getting old.

hey before i i even thought of racing i would invest on some suspention!!! trust me you will want it! i race some enduro and MX read my modds if you dont wanna get into the engine i would atleast get some suspention and widen it out also with the 300ex its really short iafter a while you might wanna get a extended swing arm thats my next upgrade the bike dont wannna fly to good its really front end heavy if you dont hit the jump hard! well thats just me and no ur not too old to start racing... oh i have found a +3 swing arm to help alot if feels alot like a 400ex then!!

 

I've thought about buying a used 400 ex, but then i'll just have to put a bunch of money into that. I think my 330 ex is plenty fast for what it is, and you're right, the front end is kinda heavy on the thing. I've gone over the bars a few times from not hitting a jump just right.
