I know I have asked this question in the past, but I have never gotten any real straight answers. I thought that there was no better place than the racing forum.

I am planning on purchasing new front shocks and extended a-arms on my 400EX. I would like to know what brand you all recommend. I have heard good and bad things about the different brands. I have been told that Lonestar and Laeger a-arms for a 400EX aren't yet that good. I heard that they fall apart causing crashes. Is there any truth to this? Anyway, I have heard good and bad things about both of those brands. I have also heard great things about Houser Racing a-arms (http://www.houser-racing.com). The Houser look strong, plus, they are pretty cheap at $500. I have also heard about Burgard's. I have been told that JD's break. PLEASE help if you can, because I'm confused. Your input is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

 

I have a 99 400ex and last year i purchased the burgard a arms and they lasted the whole racing season with no problems. the weakest point was the ball joints which i broke 1 but it was in a crash. I have taken a 6o ft triple and 85ft table so i am getting some air on these arms. These arm are cheap and worth every penny.
they are basicly designed like a laeger.
they come In nickel finish or chrome. I recommend the nickel they are cheaper and are still very shiny.

 

Check into the Timmyboy Designs a-arms. They are very solid. They have adjustable upper hyme joints, no lowers (lowers are too easy to break) The owner was also super helpful with the installation and setup. www.timmyboydesigns.com Also I have a Burgard temporary swingarm on my 400 and I have had to weld it up twice. That's why i say its temporary. You get what you pay for.
