If you are 14 you can not race in any AMA races. To race in any AMA race with a 91cc or larger quad, you must be 16 years old. If you want to race you have 2 chocies, find a non AMA race track or lie about you age. Sorry for the bad news.

Don't lie in an AMA sanctioned race. If you get caught, you get suspended for 2 years. Not worth it. Find some local races.

Rolling Hills in Reidsville, NC, runs non-AMA sanctioned races. You could race there. I love their big track; it is more of a natural-style track. Their small night track is more of a supercross-style track.

Good Luck,

I am 15 and ride a trx250r.I have raced twice both in a ama sanctioned race.My parents did have to sign a contract saying they were liable but other than that no probs.I did not lie about my age either.THe track I race at is AMA sanctioned and you have to show them your card to race.It is called cycle world in hawk point missouri. They list all of there race schedules in american motorcyclist magazine.

They aren't very good about having different classes though. They do have A,B,C classes but other than that that is it.NO CC regulations nothing.

Like at my last race I was lined up against a roll design ct330r with full PEP suspension. How am I supposed to compete with that?I was beating him though till I crashed!

Well what do you guys think? Is there something wrong here?

What is wrong is that he let you race. If wpuld have gotten hurt in your crash, the track owner would have been in big trouble for letting you race. Also, one of these days you will learn that going fast in a staight line is not the fastest. Sometime the fastest can not make a corner. My rider was leading The GNCC 2 years ago until the last race and we had a stock quad except for shocks. The machine helpsbut the rider is the most important factor.

Who are you talking to tprender?I never said going fast was in a straight line!Yea you are right. But the track I race at has lots of long straights.Everytime we would get on a straight he would get right up on me.But in the corners and jumps I was faster. So I was actaully the better of the 2 riders!

If a Track is doing an AMA race that day, they are not supose to let anyone under the age of 16 ride a quad of 91 or larger. Some tracks forget to check for ages. Just some stores don't check the age of kids buying cig's. The reason that they are letting you ride is that they want your money and hope that they do not get caught. The AMA is in the process of putting birthdate's on the cards of people under 18. The reason for this is the amount of cheating being done by 2-wheel riders in switching age classes. ATV riders do not want ages put on the cards. so that kids can lie about there age and still ride a quad.
