Indoor Motocross for Ohio Racers
#1
This weekend kicks off the indoor motocross season in Northern Ohio. This weekend the Marion Coliseum will be running races in Marion Ohio. I raced at Marion a few years ago and the track is extremely tight for a quad. The soil is a very tacky clay which makes the tight corners even harder since it is difficult to slide the rear end around. But for those that want to race in the winter the choices are very few. I think the schedule is Jan. 6,7th, and 19,20,21st. In Feb. the dates are 10,11th, and 16,17,18th.
There is also indoor motocross at the Summit Co. Fairgrounds near Akron Ohio. I have raced there several times and the track is much larger and wider than the one in Marion. The dirt was also better and I thought this track was much more enjoyable to ride. The dates for Summit are Jan. 12,13,14th and Feb. 23,24,25th.
I will probably attend a few of the races at each of these tracks. I am still recovering from some injuries from a crash this fall so I will be there just to watch. Let me know if anyone will be at any of them.

Classes - quad 2-stroke, quad 4-stroke, quad pro
Entry fee - around $25 per class, has heated indoor pits

I believe the only qualifications are a tether kill switch and appropriate safety gear (helmet, goggles, gloves, leather boots). If you plan on attending have fun and be safe!
