Default 400 class

I am sure that I will get an enormous amount of opinions but that is what I am looking for. Next year we are moving up in class per the AMA regulations. My thoughts are to run a 400, before you think I am crazey her is my thoughts. Buy a 400, put an over bore kit in to run our circuit being we don't have a 400 class just 450's. The reason for this is in the ATV amateur championships they have a school boy Sr class that has a 400 max limit. I would at that point detune the overbore back to a 400.
My question I am throwing out there is which brand would one go with and why, the Kawi 400, suzi 400, Honda 400, or the Raptor 350 (which wouldn't make it to a 450)
I have the Blaster mastered but it is a new game next year.
Thanks all for your imput.

The Honda.
Plenty of proven mods and plenty of used, highly modded ones available.
The Suz/Kaw is the same machine and I'm sure the above statement can be said for them also.
All are good machines IMO but for racing, the honda is tops.

Thats kinda my thoughts, I am going to wait to see the new suzi fuel injected 400 and also the parts available for it. Thanks for your opinion.

Dont get the honda! There air cooled and have lame suspension, the kfx/ltz 400 is a way better bike! WAY more power, piggy back shocks, just better all around, it will take alot more money to make a 400ex competitive just my $0.02.

Why not get a YFZ450 instead of making a 450 out of a Raptor 350? I think that would be a better choice than a 350 or a 400.

Out of the 400's definitely a Z400/KFZ, or DVX over a Honda. The Honda is a nice reliable machine but not a race machine at all. Good luck!

jumbofrank, the only reason we would go with a 400 is that at the Amateur Championship in MO the scool boy senior class has a 400 limit. One thing that I have heard is the suzi's and kawi's are real front end lite. can anyone elaborete on it

Oops. I misread that. I thought it said, "Raptor 350 (which we would make into a 450)". I should get hooked on phonics, instead of the stuff I'm hooked on now.
