Default Hand Guards

Just went to an Atv Event in NY at the Pepsi Arena (Sponsered By Kicker and other brands) and i noticed that alot of the riders have hand guards.

How do they benefit the rider? Do they offer protection from dirt flying on your hands or something? Are they expensive? List of popular Brands?

Both of my son's race with them, most of all it is protection not so much from the dirt but rocks. Those babys hurt when they hit the knuckles. The brand that we have are tusks, they seem pretty good and we are satisfied with them. I couldn't tell you what they cost they were a perk from our sponsor.

I have hand guards on my LTR 450. I put them on to protect the hands from roks off my front tires and the brush found out in the Mojave desert. Don't know where your at but here in our neck of the woods every plant here has spines or thorns and they hurt when they catch ya in the hand..

Price tag I got mine for about $25.00 at the local bike shop..Best money spent.

I have them on both my 420 Ranchers. Protect from flying rocks, kicked-up by the lead atv, and tree branches when riding on tight mountain trails. Also will help keep cold wind off hands.

Every ATV I have has handguards.

Low tree limbs, clods of dirt etc.....I would rather have a tree limb hit the handguards and spread the load out over my hand then a sharp whack.

I use the TUSK brand from Rocky Mountain ATV - they cost $25 and are easy to mount up.

Plus, theres the added benefit of them keeping the subzero windchill off your hands.
