I would like to start cross country or gncc racing. I have lots of skills in the rough terrain and all the stuff that kind of racing gives you. My question is what can I do to set my atv up for that kind of racing. Please people help me out fast because the races start in april. I also want to know if anyone knows if theres racing in new england or ny. Thank you very much and please help me out.

 

There are several GNCC type races in NY..... And there are actual ATVA GNCC races too.

As far as set up goes...... it really depends on the track but a z400 is set up pretty nice already for XC racing. Stock width is fine, some nice 20" 6-ply tires which you probably already have...... It looks to me like you have everything you need to race XC. A tether kill switch is a must for any AMA/ATVA race but other than that you look good.

 

Should I get a steering stablizer so when I hit a rock or big rut I dont loose control. Just wanna know. Thanks.

 

I race XC as well, so to answer you question about steering stabalizer, I could not imagine XC racing without one. If your racing hard the ruts, bumps and roots are arm breakers. You will need some nerf bars, bumpers, hand guards, tether cord, A lot of racers run Maxxis Razr 2's on the front and Razr's on the back, both on beadlocks ofcourse.
