GNC Tech Inspection
#1
If you have read the GNC Racing section on this website there will be a Tech inspection at all of the GNC races this year. I was told this by the person that will be doing the inspections at the races. Just so that when you come to a race it will not be a surprise. This is some of the things that he will be checking.
1. 50 in width of quad
2. a number plate on the front bumper
3. a number plate on the rear grab bar
4. riding numbers match the #'s on the quad
5. can't have any *,/, or letters with your
number this year
6. Working tether cord
7. clutch and brake lever must have the round
ball ends attached
8. Pro riders must have a blue background
9. correct engine size on the cylinder.
Most of these changes are being made so that it will help the people who are scoring the race and to make it safer for the riders. Hopfully the number plates and the number changes will cause less confusion and better scoring.
See you at the races and best of luck.

Thanks for the info. Is this new for this year? I know last year I raced in Nationals at Red Bud in MI and they didnt do any of this. I was just wondering, or if it was more of a spot check where they randomly selected quads to do this inspection on. Thanks for the info.

If the rider is going to ride a 240 Blaster is the aircooled class it is not legal, but it can be used in the 250cc class. If you know that someone is using a 240 Blaster in the aircooled class, file a protest and it will be taken apart. If the quad is legal you will lose your protest fee. If the quad is ilegal, you will get you money back.
The same goes for someone having a overbored 300 in the aircooled class.

Well, if I spent all that money on my quad, I sure as heck would make sure I was entering in the right class and not try and cheat anyone else. I spend alot on my quad too, but if it is not legal in the class I would like to race in, then I will pick a different class. The point is, to many racers, this is fun, but also a high level of competition. Lets face it, if you are racing in Nationals, you are not gonna race against the average local Joe. The way I see it, if someone in my class cheats so they can win, they deserve to be DQ'd if caught. I would protest if I had any suspicion about the quad. After all, I dont travel from MI to all the Nationals to lose to someone who doesnt belong in that class.
