I am geting back into mx since the mid to late 80's and was wondering what the best tire is out for quads now. I used to run fast trekers. But i am looking at the Bandits or the ITP Holeshots. I know alot of the pros use the holeshots and they where even around in when I used to race. But what I am looking for is a tire that will run good on sand and clay type tracks. Any help is appreciated.

Most everyone I know still uses 18x9.5x8 Turf Tamers. Same as it was back in the day!

The turf tamers will be the best for mud and clay bud. That is what the track i go to is made of and everyone uses turfs. They work awesome too, be sure to get them as wide as u can, much better traction. Good luck!

I have holeshot mx's and have rode another 250r with grooved turf tamers.I prefered my mx's.the holeshots slide better and hook up better out of corners.I would go holeshot mx's all the way around!

4Tecate,
Are you going to be racing at Milan Mi. since you are from Milan? As you probably know that track is extremely soft and sandy. Myself and most others use grooved turf tamers but I use Holeshots when the track is wet. I am thinking the new holeshot MX fronts might work better than the grooved radials since the sand is so soft.
