do any of you guys know a company that sells a 400ex motor fairly cheap, or know where i can just get one. i would love to me able to buy one from east coast atv or something already built to my specs, but i'm afraid of the prices i'll have to face. do any on you have any info on this, or any suggestions.??

 

I think there might be a couple in the classified section on this site actually, check there. I know there is one at least. There may also be one on e-bay, I cant remember.

May I ask why you want just the 400 motor? Just to let you know, by law you can't purchase a NEW 400ex frame unless you own an original 400ex for some weird reason. I just read that in ATV sport. Some guy had built a 400ex frame to hold both a 330r motor and a yz426 mtor and htey said he couldnt legally buy a new frame.

Just thought I would let oyu know. Also, I think you had said you were looking for a 400ex or 250r, you would be able to buy the R motor much cheaper I think, used of course, not new. Or else a 350x motor would do good too.

 

a guy that lives around here had a 350X motor in a 300ex frame, and it gave him a buttload of trouble, some i'm not too attracted to the 350x motor. the reason i want a 400ex motor is cause me and my friend thought it would do great bored to 416 and set over in a R frame.
