What are the different types of carburetors and what is their advantage? I have heard of flat slide, round, PWK, etc. Anyone knows? I need an upgrade for my Tri-Z.

Your best bet is to go with a well known outfit like Duncan, Trinity, or CT. You will pay more for the carburetor through a performance shop but you will end up with the right product for you needs and you will get some jetting instructions. The catalogs offered by these types of shops often explain the differences between carbs and the type best suited for your bike.

I have a Duncan Racing Keihin 36mm PWK w/their superflow mod on my R. I asked them which carb would be best for my riding style and quad (MX Racing, mildly modded motor (everything else is completely tricked out)) They chose the 36mm as it would help throughout the powerband. I would go with Duncan if i were you. Theyll set you up with the right carb for your needs.
Heres a link to Duncans Web Site.
