We need a new 250 Two Stroke Quad
#1
Here we are again at the end of another racing season and the two strokes have taken the Pro- class titles in booth the GNC and the GNCC.I just got back from the local dealer and all I see is state of the art Motocross bikes that are mainly two-strokes.This is crazy we spend money on Raptors, 400EXs,and outdated Banshees just so the big companys can pay all their high dollar bike riders big money .This is money we spend on old technology.I say lets rally together so they start putting some money back into the quad sport side of the market. It is ridiculous that they will not try to market some sort of race oriented two- stroke qaud.

i agree that we need new blood in the sport, if any major manufacturer produced a current technology 2-stroke 250cc quad,(even if it's sold as a closed course only machine) i'd try my best to get my hands on one. maybe the proposed GNC rule changes will help push one into production.... who knows
unfortuneately the life of 2-stroke engines in all forms of racing is numbered.(a number of us just don't like the idea at all- including me) the FIM recently changed the rules for world GP sport bike racing, giving a slight advantage to 4-stroke bikes in the GP1 class. sorry to say it, but the industry is trying it's best to declare 2-strokes dead. i see it as only a matter of time until the manufacturers lobby to have changes made favoring thumpers in all forms of off road, watercraft, and snowmobile racing as well...

in the oct DW mag they talk about the possibility ... more from a begging standpoint: that tons of us want it...
in the issue they test ride the new quests on the bomb testing grounds; while there, they visit the engine factory. i guess the saw what the european market gets and we obviously don't(thanks again govt...protecting us from ourselves), they noticed both a 125 and a 250 shifter cart motor that could be easily used in a quad. from my perspective it's doubtful (at best) that they'll actually have the nads to build it... if they do, i hope it holds together well enough to win a lot of races.
