Red Bud will be my first national. Depending upon how things are going in my local district and how much fun I have at Red Bud will determine how many more I can attend. My local sponsor's would rather see me at D23 events for obvious reasons.

For anyone attending Red Bud, look me up when it gets alittle closer. (chrisjstark@yahoo.com) I'd like to meet as many of you as I can.

See ya at the races.

Chris,
I just started racing last year. In D-16 we only have a B and A class for my quad so I raced B class. At Nationals I raced C considering Red Bud was only my 3rd race ever. Someone on here gave me a lot of crap because I was in B here and C there.
Anyway, I ended up with 16th out of about 40 overall in 250C. I had a great time and will be there again this year in 250 B I hope!

Go to www.danacreechracing.com and look what frame everyone was running in each class.

Eric,

In D23 we have 5 MX quad classes:

QuadSport (200cc 2-stroke and 0-350cc 4-stroke)
Quad A (250 2-stroke and 0-440 4-stroke)
OPEN (anything goes)
VET (+30 years of age)
Women (you know the drill)

So it's pretty easy to find the class that your quad fits into, but it's not easy to win. The fast guys in the top 4 classes all run lap times within a few seconds of each other. Even the QuadSport class features several aftermarket framed machines. In the future, I really hope that D23 expands some of the classes to an A and B format. Because for the average racer, it's almost impossible for them to compete. Stock 400EX's can't race against $20,000 yzf426 quads. And right now, that's what's happening. I really want to see the sport grow. But unless there is an upper and lower division in each class, it's hard to get new racers to join. Everyone likes to have fun and bring home a trophy now and then.

I really don't want to get into it, but here it goes. We share Sunday racing with the dirtbike crowd. They have 30 clases of motos, we (the quads) have 4 (VET and Women run together). Race day is long. It starts at 7am and runs well past 6pm at night. If you only race one class, sometimes you have 4-5 hours between your motos. Now if quads want to add a new class or expand on some of the current classes. It will be impossible. The dirtbiker's already whine about sitting through 4(8 total) quad motos. To add another one is like pulling teeth. What about running quads on Saturday. Good idea, but then the promotor, track and safty crew have to work 2 days. Not going to happen. What about doing a double drop and letting the A class going and the B class 20-30 seconds behind them. Good idea, but a score's nightmare and there's a good chance the fastest A guys will come around and lap the slowest B guys. Not good if there is a close race up front. So what other options are there for adding classes and making the racing fun for all? One answer.... Have so many racers attend every race that the gates are over-flowing with quads and we are forced to open new classes or make some changes. Is it going to happen....? I hope.....

One other thing,

I'm not a Pro racer. I don't ride like one either. I have a family, house, job and other things that I must attend to in my life. But every chance I get, you'll see me out in the garage wrenching on my quad. I eat, breathe and sleep quad racing. I love it! I know that there are many of you out there like me. I just wish that we could all get together and make this thing work.

cstark,
I'm a vet and can deffinately relate.
Thiers one other option thier, races usually run first and third sundays of the month, what about us having second and forth sunday of the month.
The tracks are usually open off sundays any way for practice.
But I'm with ya, I have a family and all that goes with it also!!!!!!!
