Quad Racing

<< I disagree with the bike motor dilemma. I don't think they should be allowed. The whole point is that if you have two equal riders, one on a 20G YZ426 quad, and the other on a 10G 400ex, they YZ rider will win every single time. >>
That is the whole reason you have production class.

You guys need to realize something. Granted, the bike engine in quad frame thing is a disadvantage for the amateur guy, but if you ever get to the point that a Sparks 265 and a talented rider can't beat everyone at your track, you're in the pro rankings. Everyone whine's about the "amateur" racer putting bike motors in quad frames, but I got news for you. Pro's don't pay for that conversion. Their sponsors do. If a local racer can ride his motor the fastest that it can be ridden, he needs to move up in his classing.
What Im really trying to say is that you dont need those motors until you're in the pro classes. When you move up to that level, and need that motor, you will have PLENTY of sponsors that will be 100% willing to do the work for you.

Sorry to burst you bubble, but there is NO PRODUCTION CLASS at the GNC Nationals! And most of you are missing the point of the whole cost issue. If everyone keeps doing like they've done, they'll get the same results. I know one day I would like to be on TV regular, get paid for racing, and not have to mortgage the house to race. Whats the pro purse nowadays? 2 grand? How much do you think it would be if 5 times the number of amatuers showed up? 10 grand probably! Still a far cry from the dirtbikes, but better. The sport is about the amatuers paying for it, not about the 20 or so whiny **** pro's who get their crap paid for. If us amatuers quit showing up, the so called "pro" riders will be out of a venue, period. I can see why most of you are not business majors, no common sense at all

If they aren't running the production class this season than it will be next season. Also, Jerimiah Jones seemed to do just fine against, Gust and Farr, I don't know about the other classes though. You do have a point there though. But it isn't as big of a deal as people are making of it. The 250R and C-dale racers size up pretty good against the bike engined quads (in the stadium races anyways). I'm excited to see how the GNC's will turn out. Last season saw record attendance at nearly every race... Sounds like it's getting more popular w/ everyone.

Frankly we are the 1s who get the point.Raptor rider is right some of ya in here might have made the move to pro but if it wasnt for the little guy 95 percent of the time in anything there'd be no pro class rich class or upper crust cause us pave the way for these senseless bimbos who make it and whine about everything. How can you compare a 20 grand motor tha tyou didnt even pay for against a motor that alot of us cant afford. Its easy to forget when 1 makes it to the big leagues what its was 1 like to struggle. Its beyond me how ya could forget such an important lesson in life and **** on the litte guy when u were 1 at 1 time yourself.

Let's all just b!tch about something. You guys are totally missing the point! Yeah, Pro Production class was voted down this year, but you can ride in it next year. Sure, pro's make their money off us. 20K in an engine? Hopefully you were exaggerating.
Look, the average local racer has no need what-so-ever for a YZF motor. Just like YoDaddy said, Jackson is doing VERY good on his 265, and all the C-Dale riders are in the top 10. Instead of sitting behind this keyboard griping about something that doesn't even apply to you, get on the track and practice.

After reading all that has been said, the cheapest form of motorsport racing is ATV and dirtbike racing. In fact the cheapest of all is to buy a used sport or util quad and race it in the first year class of the GNCC. I bought a Wolverine last year and raced my first ever race in a GNCC event. I had a blast!!! I am now hooked and plan on attending as many GNCC and local harescrambles as I can this year.

One of you said the pros are a bunch of whiners. I disagree. I think a bunch of you guys are whiners. Yes atv racing is an expensive sport. But if you want to play, you gotta pay. IF you guys are pissed about how atv racing gets no support, no outside sponser, and no tv time, HOW DO YOU THINK THE PROS FEEL. The top ten pros are just as talented as the top 1- motocycle guys and they get NO CREDIT, NO MONEY, AND NO FAME. They are the guys that should be compalining not some local C class racer with a stock quad. Doug gust has been racing nats for like 14 years. I am sure he has invested over 200k in his own money over the years.
My 2 cents.

Yeah, I'm complaining... for the pro's, not myself. I'm not lookin for factory sponsorship. I'm a local track amature racer, and not even a good one at that, so I sure as hell am not saying this stuff for myself. I'm saying, the pro's don't get any where near the respect they deserve. So as far as saying, "Its easy to forget when 1 makes it to the big leagues what its was like to struggle." All I have to say is, I'm one of the guys struggling down there, so you don't have to give me all that "fortune cookie" horse ****.
