This is just me... I think that 2-strokes are harder to ride. I used to own a 300ex and now I own a Cannibal and when I jump on a Banshee or 250R, I have trouble keeping it in the power band. If your used to riding 2-strokes, than I would go with the R motor. Those R's are awesome in the corners but I can't seem to just ride them that good. Like I said, Thats just me... I'm a 4-stroke kinda guy.

OK, personally the only 4 stroke I would want to buy is a Cannondale. I just think that 2 strokes are more thrilling, and for me, easier to ride. Another thing is, you can't use a CRF450 motored quad in the GNC's next year anyway because of the new Pro Production class. Basically for me, it's commom sense. 2 strokes are cheaper to build, easier for ME to work on, and smaller engined 2 strokes still produce more power than Raptors or any other 4 banger, especially when piped, ported and polished, etc..., and contrary to popular belief, they are pretty damn reliable, if taken care of, even if they are run WOT all the time(if you don't beleive me, I will show you a picture of my cylinder, stock bore, never opened up for 17 years, pretty damn good if you ask me!) Oh and please tell me how you have all this money, wanna help a brotha out, lol hahahahahahahahah. Your response " are you somking crack????????'

the money is half and half my dads being very supportive and no im not rich but yet im not poor we just kinda get by lol

why couldnt u run the 450 engine de sleeve it to 440 and run pro am right? wat do mean u cant because of a new pro prodution class?

yeah guys what ever u do even if u already no this..dont buy a brand new quad u cant even race where u want the raptor for me flat out sux i need to put more money into iit and i dont feel its worth it id rather put together a 425 or 250r i mean come on i lost 2 grand no matter wat just because i bought it new bad desisions well all in all im keeping it anyway my dads gonna have something to ride he said he might fix it up for flat track or something(he doest like alot of jumps!

A guy that goes by Sickman on here and rides Open A in nationals built a 330r/YZ426 quad. He built it with removable motor mounts so that he could swap the motors out, and they were both in a 400ex frame. You may try and look up his name on here and see what you can find out, I know his quad was in one of the mags but dont konw which. Either way, its do-able

If it was me I would go with the 4 stroke. I have not seen any CRF conversions, but the YZs I have seen are definitely awesome. There is no reason you cant run a desleeved or destroked CRF in any class at the GNCS. You could also leave it a 450 and run it in the open classes.

Also, the 4 stroke revolution is here. It is the future of MX bikes and our only hope at a true race quad. The only riders to win on 2 strokes last year were Jones and Hitt both on Sparks powered R's.

I also feel the same way about building up a stock quad. I have tons off money in my Sparks 440EX, but it still has a stock frame. I would really like to do a conversion quad with aftermarket frame and all.

Adam Smith- Go to Walsh 450r. This quad is very trick. Also you can go to Houser 450r. These are some of the first to do a 450r conversion. Jeremiah Jones and Tim Farr are also going to have 450r quads this year. Maybe they will have them ready at Macon. One more week and I cant wait. Check out my other post on an interview with Jeremiah Jones. MrP.
