Saftey decals
#1
this isn't my deal, but I saw it on an MX board, and thought it was a good Idea.
About two months ago, a friend was at a local track and got hurt really bad…bad enough to get flown out. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he had brought his five-year-old son with him.
A riding buddy was there, but he soon realized that he only knew the downed rider’s name and home phone. That was no help, being no one was at home and he didn’t know what to do about the rider’s 5 yr old boy.
We realized that many, many riders do not have or carry any emergency information on them when they’re riding. Many tracks only require you to sign the waiver, but keep no actual information on each and every rider. If you’re knocked out, how are they going to know whom you are anyway?
So, we decided as a public service to all racers to do something about this.
THESE ARE TOTALLY FREE EMERGENCY MEDICAL DECALS
Send a self addressed stamped ($0.37 now) envelope and we’ll send you the medical emergency decals we had produced…again, free of charge. Just promise you’ll use it.
It is a high quality vinyl decal specially coated with a write-on surface. It has lines for:
Name
Date of Birth
Medical Allergies
Medical History
Emergency Phone
We talked to many paramedics and they agreed that that is enough information for medical services to get started.
It is business card size and will fit cleanly on the underside of your visor - you won’t even see it when riding.
This could save your life or the life of a friend…we hope that by year’s end, every rider will have one of these, or something similar, on his or her helmet.
Once again, TOTALLY FREE. Just send an S.A.S.E. to:
Engine Ice
Dept: Medical Decals
707 SW 3rd Ave
Boynton Beach, FL 33426
They were produced by the folks at Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant. I will admit the logo is on the decal. Cut it off if you want, just USE THE DECAL.
