I wouldn't buy one with a stock R frame. Johnny Hale sold his YZF for 14K but he has after market EVERYTHING. I don't know what kind of frame and everything he was runnin but I know it was aftermarket.
If you do buy this one, go ahead and buy an after market frame. It will last longer.
As for track performance....... AWESOME! If you would rather ride a 4-stroke, I would definitely recommend a YZF, CRF, or C-dale. Much better than any other 4-stroke when it comes to MX.

o3thirdeyeo3, Right now I have a Houser framed CRF450. Axis shocks, RPM axle, HIper wheels, and other stuff too. No motor mods yet, but I am not sure it really needs any. Before I had a Sparks 440EX and I am pretty sure that the CRF has more power. The biggest reason I built a CRF over a YZ426 is the ease of starting. Generally speaking my CRF starts great unless it is very cold like in the 30's, and even then once it is warmed up it starts great. Which is a problem with the YZ it is very hard to start once it is hot. I know many people have gotten the technique down, but when your adrenaline is pumping and people start passing you while you are stalled will see how good your technique is.
If you think the quad is in real good shape and based on what MXDale said for the price of a full on YZ426. See if you can get it cheaper! One problem is if you ever damage that R frame and need a new one Honda won't sell it without the engine serial# and frame serial # as far as I know. Most aftermarket frames can be had for $3000 or less so if you could get him to come down another $2000 or so then you probably would be ahead of the game to buy it. Especially if the other components are nice. good luck
