Aluminum axle help!!
#1
I have a chance to buy an aluminum axle made by RPM. It is adjustable for up to plus 5". Is this for motocross? I'm kind of leary about buying it but i have to make my choice by sunday, noon. It's on e-bay. I'm just wondering if its for TT or something. I looked on RPM's website but it didn't tell what it was for. Below it,though was another aluminum axle of a different length for drag racing.Someone who knows please help.

Id be a little weary of an Aluminum Axle for MX.Go with a RPM Dominator.Thats what the top pros use and they look killer and are bulletproof.Im on my 2nd Dominator Axle and i loved both of them.I just bought a Dominator 2 and it kicks azz. late, zubbeyboy

Thanx alkyburninx, thats what I get for waiting till the last minute and scrambling. To tell you the truth I have never heard of an aluminum axle and thought the guy was talking about the hubs.
lt80,I wish I could afford those shocks, but I ordered my works triple rates with rezzys today, considering I had spent stock shocks I'm sure I won't even recognize the ride.
I also have +2 +1 a-arms on the way, thinking of going with the lonestar axle(freinds tell me the warranty is better than durablue)my cylinder is being ported, head rechambered, and a new pipe+silencer(the one I have has been welded so many times it says "old" rather than "gold" series, which is probably junk anyway)
A very quick way to spend $2000.00

I also recommend the Lonestar axle. I have it in my TT bike. The chrome isn't the best though.
Who is doing the engine work? I would recommend ESR or FTZ. Even if you are having someone else do the porting/headwork, definetly run the pipes from either ESR or FTZ. They are both awesome. You will be surprised of the power over the FMF.

I have a couple of drag racing buddies that use the esr stuff, one has 310 or 330 cylinder and pipe, ignition, head and more.Another freind has the esr pipe+head, and ported from a local guy.
Personally I am completely sick of hearing about these local ex-gocart racers porting motors and nothing touches their stuff.I originally planned on buying chassis components this year, but their mouths have driven me to get my motor done (or started) as well.
I have nothing against ESR .If I was building a drag quad FTZ would be one of the top three I would go with.
Most of the money is going for motocross stuff which is where my heart is,but I'm sure a national level 250 can put a good hurting on a backyard ported+tuned quad with some good aftermarket parts.
I've been doing reserch since 1998 when I bought this R, on who to have build my motor(I have lots of paper and a couple of pens but not alot of money lol)I have decieded to go with Trinity Racing.I have talked personally with Harry McDermont. He told me everything I wanted to know, more I didn't know.He is extremely helpful courtious and unsecretive. To date I haven't given him a penny yet.Thats worlds more than some people get that have spent thousands. When I get the beast back+ tested I'm gonna break out some west coast **** the gocarters ain't never seen before.

If you are going to buy an axle the RPM is the only way to go. Call Lone Star and ask them how many 250R axles were broke last year and sent to them for warrenty then call Dura -Broke and ask them the same thing then call RPM and ask to speak to Jeremy Young and ask him the same question! Just talking to Jeremy will sell you on the RPM he is a great guy, but when you here they have BROKE less than 25 axles in the past 8 years on ALL quads combined that should convince you. RPM IS THE STRONGEST, BEST AXLE MADE!!!!!
