How much do you have to spend? Is that all you will be doing or trail riding as well? How big are you?

Off the subject but when you decide on what you want to get I suggest that you get 2 new sets of tires...I can't remember where I read this but for snow you want a tighter lug pattern so that way the snow can stick on to it and pull it self...for mud you need a set that cleans them selfs out well so the tires can pull more mud.

Check out the IRS models with their ground clearence the can go through deeper snow and muddy rutted trails won't affect them as much as it would a solid axle.

Actually the most important factor is having good tires.I have yet to see a factory 4x4 come with tires that were as good as aftermarket tires for traction in mud.Install a set of mudrunners, gators or mudrunners on any 4x4 and you will go through more mud and snow than any quad with factory tires.

Some makes and models are starting to put good tires on them from the factory such as the Polaris 700 and Arctic Cats new 650.

i know u guys r gonna luagh but i was gonna suggest a honda big red three wheeler it makes a killer snow quad just becuase the front tire will always ride on top of the snow when a four wheeler gets in deep snow the a arms start pushing the snow and it makes it a real pain in the rump to steer espically on 2wd models when the a arms start pushing that heavy snow the back tires tend to break lose real easy. the big red is also designed to except huge tires in the front and rear it also has high and low range with a five speed tranny its been so long since i had mine i cant remember if they i had reverse i dont think it does but it might

I have to agree with you totally, not only is the honda big red the most reliable thing on earth, they are awesome on mud (dont have snow here, so i wouldnt know) simply because the front is so light. but no reverse.
