that is kind of a risky choice for a first bike but you'll get used to it. you ride with anyone else? if so try out one of theirs for a day or two. that's an awesome bike though nice choice. All i can say is take it easy for a week or two, and try and make sure you ride with other people.

quad or three wheeler?

the 250R is the most reliable 2 stroke ive ever seen and yes i do own one. i wouldnt suggest getting a built 250R for even a intermediate rider, you are getting in over your head. this is a classic example of why these machines arent made anymore.

i definately have to back up HA2 on this one. a 250R is not a beginners bike, especially if its hopped up. sometimes it seems like it would be cheaper to buy a good one first and grow into it, but its really a lot better to get something smaller and better suited to your abilities and then later on get a better bike, even though it is more expensive. it would help me to suggest something else for you if i knew how old you are and if you have any experience at all on a quad or motorcycle. but you could do it, just remember to be very cautious for a while and dont push it more than you feel comfortable.

in that case im not as worried about this being too much for you, just make sure not to underestimate it. the lt250r is a great bike and as long as you dont get too crazy before you learn to ride right you should be just fine. you live in medford, what kind of riding do you plan on doing? i would suggest that you try going somewhere that isnt very challenging at first. as im sure you know, a bike like this is meant for dunes, so i hope thats where you plan on taking it. im definately not going to tell you that you cant get hurt in the dunes, thats completely not true, but i think it would be a good idea if you went there soon, dunes are open and it will let you explore things at your own pace and get a feel for the bikes handling and its engine. dont forget though, it will feel a lot different in sand than it will in trails. basically what im trying to say is -

BE CAREFUL!!!!!!!!

P.S. do you have any experience with a motorcycle or atvs clutch? its the same concept as a car, but there is a different feel to it, its a little hard to describe. youll just have to take it slow and learn from experience. *this might sound like an insult, its not, just cant stress this enough, be VERY easy on the clutch at first til you get a feel of it, you dont want to just drop it in gear, a bike with that much power will go right over backwards on you*

if you need any more help, just ask
