a 400ex is way better than a blaster. so your friend is kind of messed up in the head

if youre only 13 and this is your first bike, i would probably lean towards a 400ex or a blaster. i definately would tell you NOT to even think about a banshee. its WAY too much for a first bike. i have a blaster and im gonna sell it and get a banshee soon, but thats because ive been riding quads since i was 9 and dirtbikes since i was 5 and im 16 now. for me a blaster isnt enough power, but for a first bike and for someone who's 13, i would say a blaster would be good. a 250ex is too wimpy, i mean it would be kinda fun but only for about 6 months and youd want something bigger. a blaster is a lot of fun and is really comparable to a 400ex. its not quite as fast and not quite as powerful, and the chassis and suspension isnt as good, but a blaster is about 2500 dollars less than a 400ex. a blaster has about 19 hp stock and a 400ex has about 27. but with the money you saved by going with a blaster you could tune it up to almost 40 hp. theres a kit from trenga racing for about 1400 dollars and its got everything you need to get almost 40. the 400ex is an easier bike to ride, but it all depends on what you want, where youre going to ride and how important money is to you. hope this helps, even though it contradicts with what everybody else has said.

just get the 400ex. you're gonna need serious time under your belt to step into the world of a 2 stroke.
