Default lakota sport or ozark 250

After looking at ATV's at 5 dealers I think I have narrowed the pick down to 2. Should I buy an Ozark or a Lakota Sport. I am 6' 1" & 215 lbs. These two machines are in my price range. I mainly want to just ride & have fun with my kids, so I don't need anything real powerful. Any suggestions will be greatly appriciated. Thanks

Thank you Coyotechasher & vhcat400i for your input. Looks like I will probably buy a Z-250 as soon as I try one out. My cousin has a Lakota Sport & it seemed OK to me. I have not tried the Z-250 yet. They are hard to find near me. It seems like they sell out pretty fast.

I have owned a Lakota Sport and currently own both a Z250 and an Ozark. If you are looking for an ALL AROUND Quad to just have fun with and run around on, I would personally go with the Ozark. It is more forgiving and more stable than the Z250 (Not as fast or as well suspended). Due to the Shaft drive, it is able to handle all types of terrain and is a lot of fun for both the beginner and the experienced rider. The racks also come in handy. The only trouble with the Lakota is the lack of ground clearance due to the chain drive and rear disk brake and it is also quite heavy.

Good luck all 3 are fun quads.

We just got an Ozark (supposed to be the wife bike). I've got to admit that after spending years riding only full size 4x4's the 'zark is a fun ride. I'm 6'-2" and about 190lbs. The Ozark is just a tad on the small side for me but not so much to keep me from sometimes leaving the Eiger at home to go play with a light and sporty 2wd.

The reason I said the Z250 instead of the Ozark is because the Lakota is more on the sporty side although you can get racks for it. The Lakota has an older style and is heavier. It also requires more maintenance because of the chain drive. The Z250 has a shaft. The Lakota is a 300 but the weight and gearing hold it back more than the Z250. If you think that you might need racks then maybe the Ozark or a Recon would be better. Try them out to make sure you'll be comfortable on them because of your height. If you are looking at spending around $3500. then you could also buy a used 300ex, Warrior, 400ex or something.
