Default Quad for Wife, Honda 250ex or Suzuki 250 Quadsport

Looking for a new quad for the wife. She wants an auto clutch. I was considering these 2 quads. What are the pros and cons with both. We ride primarily in the desert near Victorville, El Mirage, etc, with an occasional trip to the dunes. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Jeff.

I bought my wife a 250ex and she loves it. I hate to admit it but I really like to ride it myself other that it bein g a little bit small. It is a super fun quad to ride around the farm.

Our 250EX is a great bike! Change out the tires as soon as possibe, for some ITP Holeshots. And, if you go with ITP 9X9" rims in back, and 10X5" in front, the bike will be several inches wider, for some nice added stability.

Reconranger, I noticed you had a Z400 and a 400ex. Is the z400 the newer Suzuki Model? If so, how do you like it compared with the 400ex. ?

Teach her how to shift and buy a 300 ex or something around that size. If your wife does'nt think her bike will make it up a hill the she won't try. My wife and her friend was that way and she had a Warrior. I bought a 400ex for myself and I also have a Banshee but I wanted to be able to have both. She rode the 400 all weekend at the Oregon dunes and now I have to sell the Warrior haha. She fallowed me everywhere, that has'nt ever happened before. She loves the extra power. You don't want to under power your wife.

Hookup-Both the 400's are great bikes! Suzuki basically did a knockoff of the 400EX's geometry, and the put a better engine in it.

By the way, in the latest issues of ATV Action and Dirtwheels, the 250EX won the shootout against the Z250, for what it's worth.
