I know this will not answer your question, but I had a 1999 SP500 and sold it so that I could purchase a Rubicon. I can say that I had no problems with the Polaris in the year that I had it and I don't think the fellow I sold it to has had any problems so far and I know he rides it rather hard. One reason I bought the Rubicon is due to Honda's reputation for ruggedness and reliability. I hope you find the answer to your question.

Scan the forums for each manufacturer. Go back a month or more. You will see problems with some quads more than others. I believe Polaris has improved their quality, they had to, to keep sales from falling.

Have heard from many that Polaris has the least customer loyality of any. Meaning very few second time buyers of the Polaris ATV or PWC.

Good luck

well ive had my polaris for about 8-9 mos now..owned a suzuki before and as far as im concerned the polaris is good..im very hard on it and do mostly mudding..other than a set of brake pads and usual maintenance its been a good machine. i think all brands have there share of problems in one way or another..im thinking of buying another one

my polaris was very reliable. I didn't have any trouble with it.

I would buy another if i could afford a new one.

Sprintpusher,

You are correct about the Polaris PWC. Before getting into quads, we were into the PWC, we lived in Florida. I towed many Polaris PWC back to shore. The point I was making, not many would buy or did buy a second PWC from Polaris. You saw about as many Polaris PWC as you did Tiger sharks (Artic Cat) & Tigersharks are no longer being made.

The most PWC I saw while living in Florida.
1. Sea Doo
2. Yamaha
3. Kawasaki
4. Polaris
5. Tiger sharks

Just a little info.

Does anyone know about Polaris Snowmobile quality?

kewlpop,

I would have sent you an e-mail, but its not listed on your member profile.

If someone was looking for a 2-3 year old snowmobile, entry-mid level what would you recommend?

I have a 2000 SP500 and I love it. The only thing else I would consider would be the traxter. They all have their pros and cons. I like the fact that I could have a way to have 2 or 4wd. The folks I know with polaris are incredibly hard oon them...they keep tickin. For me , I am tall and need a bigger bike. Try them all

Good Luck
