polaris quailty?

Forget about Japanese quality. Several ATV manufacturers have assembly plants here in the US including Honda. Granted, the designs might be still of Japanese origin, however US hands still put them together. And it even seems the design standards are not what they used to be with Japanese products. I bought a new Toyota pickup to replace my 85 model and have seen numerous examples of cheaper materials being used in the production process. The Tacoma has a lot of plastic where the '85 model included steel.

We own 2 polaris snowmobiles, they are super reliable. Our 94 XLT has about 10000-12000 miles on it, never skipped a beat. All we've done to it is chanbge the plugs whn needed and the belt. Polaris is a great snowmobile manufacturer. The quads, in my opinion, have received a bad rap. Id buy a polaris any day.

Everyone that owns a Polaris near me is very happy. Their quality in soooo much beter than ever! I know guys that have '96 Sp500's and they beat the hell out of them. They are running next to perfect, and are considering another Polaris! There 2000 line-up was awesome, and just wait for 2001!

At one time Polaris was one a few (if not the only) ATV manufacturer that did offer an extended warranty for their quads. It was common for retailers to cover this by selling third-party maintenance packages that would cover warranty work after the initial Polaris warranty had expired.
While I would probably never purchase an extended warranty for any product, I seriously doubt I would buy something for which it wasn't available. Heck, if the manufacturer doesn't show faith that the product will last, why should anyone else.
