What are you purchasing this atv for?
What do you plan on doing on it?
What kind of places do you plan on riding?
Do you have others you are going to be riding with?
If so, What kind of machines do they have?
What kind of budget are you looking at?
What dealerships do you have availible to you?

I dought it but if you can find 1 that cheap get a prarie 650.

my uncle hunts. he just bought his prarie a few monthes ago and he loves it.

I know your prolly thinkin a 650 is way to much power for a first atv.

before my uncles prarie he had never ridin an atv before. I convinced him to go with the bigger atv and he absolutly loves it.

he has towed a trailer with a 350lb animal and a 500lb animal (or somethin like that) and his equipment through the woods with it towed like it wasn't there.

so thats my 2cents

I can, quads of that price quality are not worth the effort to the shops to try and sell. You would be better off checking your classifieds. The old Honda Fourtrax are very reliable and the KIng Quad and Quadrunner which are 4x4 models are also very reliable, except the rear brakes tend to wear rather quickly. Big Bears and Kodiaks are also good choices, they too can be had on your budget. AlaskaBoy.

We've had both the Suzuki 250 Quadrunner 4X4 and the Suzuki King Quad 4X4. Let me tell you that they are excellent quads that require little maintenace. They are shaft driven so no chain issues. They have a wide variety of gear combo's...such as 2WD/4WD Hi/Low/Super Low/Defferntial Lock. My old man used his for hunting and loves it. It ain't no speed machine but it's "the little engine that could". PLUS, they're dirt cheap because everyone thinks they nees a 700cc quad. Hope this helps!!!

You can get a new Suzuki Ozark for about $2900. Call Romney Cycle sales in Romney West Virginia 304-822-3933 They sell Suzuki, Kawasaki, Yamaha. Their prices are usually $400-$700 under retail. Plus they do not charge a set-up fee. give them a call, maybe you could buy new for a little more$$$.

trx honda 300's are bullet proof.(2x4 or 4x4)

You can get a nice one for around 2500.
I'm not crazy about the drum brakes but otherwise this is a great bike. You could even find a foreman 400 for around the same price.

The kawasaki bayou 300 and yamaha big bear are great as well and are similarly priced.

What to look for when buying used:

check the oil
pull of the airbox lid see if the filter is clean
check the bearing by shaking the bike
check to see that the brakes work
pull the plug and look at the condition (any shop manual will tell you how to read plugs but the important thing is no oil on the plug and no excessive carbon or sut.)
check the tires (this can be $300 or more if it needs a set)
check the lights

If everything checks out ok this could mean that the bike was well taken care of.

Make sure to drive the bike:
does it smoke
does it shift through all the gears (including reverse) with ease
is the clutch slipping? (when you gas it the engine will rev high but the machine won't be accelerating very well)

good luck

If you manage this quad for your budget, please let me know how because that would be a blessing from above.
