I have been saving money for quite sometime and am ready for a sport quad. I am looking for something with plenty of low end power, but a fairly good top end as well. I want it to have plenty or juice to wheelie. I ride mainly in feilds and old dirt roads, but occationally on tight woods trails. As of right now I am leaning towards a Raptor because of their all around performance, but lets here what you guys have for advice.

 

outa the bikes u have listed...i would go with the DS650, it has a lot of power and is really reliable. I am in the same shoes as u im deciding whether to get a DS650 or a banshee.

 

I just bought the DS and love it. I'm a bigger guy at 6'2 200lbs+ and the DS makes me feel comfy. The rappy is too top heavy and feels too small for me.

 

Yea im 5'8 1/4 and weigh 145...but im 14 so im still growing...i want something with a lot of power....nobody around here has a DS

 

im 6'3" 180 and i dont feel cramped at all on my raptor but i guess there could be a difference being tall and built and just plain big no offense to anybody that is, but anyway the ds is mainly a dune only quad becuase i have only ever ridden with one and the person had trouble in tight trails because they are so big

 

ok, the ds 650 is a nice machine....but..the only downside is that its the widest quad you listed..So as for the tight woods trails it has a disadvantage..opens fields it would be perfect...another downside..if your looking at the 04's,,,I beleive they redesigned there swingarm or the rear stance...and I heard that it feels less stable at high speeds and on jumps then the old ds's...The rappy...great quad..fast...that and the z400 would be the best for trails..you can get use to the tippsyness and put new rear tires on it to fix that problem...I would narrow it down to the 650 and the 660 if it were me...see if you can't test ride them to see how you like the feel of them.

 

Yeah the DS is wide And the 04 has a shorter swing arm which makes the front come up a little easier but its still got to be the most stable stock machine you can buy.
The raptor might do better in the woods if there aint a lot of room but the DS is definetly the more stable of the two, I have ridden both
If you have the cash for an 04 and woods is your thing you might want to concider the TRX 450r, I was close but No electric start put me off.
