Which to Buy Z400 or Raptor 660
Hi all, first of all I don't want to see any bashes here against either of the quads, please!!
I've had a proposition made to me by a friend who is looking to get into the sport ATV world. He wants to buy my Warrior for $4k CDN and suggested that I could use that then to get a Raptor 660 that he knows of.
The raptor in question is either a 2002 or a 2003 for the asking price of $6500 CDN. I've seen pics of the bike and it looks absolutely mint.
I also started thinking that maybe I could get one of the 400 quads available. There's a 2003 Z 400 for $6500 as well, and there's a 2004 Z 400 for $7850.
Which would you go for and why? (remember, no bashing!!)

I also have an 01 Warrior and I just bought the 04 Arctic Cat DVX 400.The 400 is a huge improvement in almost every way.The warrior was a little nicer for very slow trail riding(with my 6 year old on his 90) but I love the DVX.They are selling for as low as $6999+ freight and pdi here in Ontario. The nice thing about the DVX is that it has all the updates the Suzuki will recieve for 05 already in the 04 model so do some shopping around.I don't have any personal experience with the raptor but I was a little spooked at the amount of posts I've seen on different forums with engine and transmission troubles.I may be way wrong about the raptor though.I do love the looks of it though.

Most of the post you see about Raptor problems are from people adding lots of mods to them and pushing the engines harder.
But if i had a choice between the Raptor and the Z400 i would go with the Raptor and thats not because i own one. If you ride trails the Raptor is the best out there, it's a little narrow but when you get on trails you'll like this because you can get through some tight trails the other quads get hung up on.
Also with it's monster torque you can feather the gas and walk the nose over logs and whatnot without even thinking about it.
Both are great machines. The Raptor is a little tall in first gear but thats really easy and cheep to fix.
