Has anybody purchased the new Impulse 90... or seen it in action. My son has a 1999 Honda XR-80R but wants a quad instead of a dirtbike(so he can play in the mud) Ive read what DW had to say about it... but you never can tell about those peeps... Sometimes I think they've been inhaling pre-mix... Anyway.. anybody that has information about it, and/or the Impulse 50, I would greatly appreciate it...

About 2 weeks after I bought a used Suzuki LT-80, the local Impuls dealer had some 90cc models on display. I had come very close to buying my son one of the 50cc Impuls, but chose to go with the used 80cc so he wouldn't outgrow it as quickly. Anyway, the fit and finish on the Impuls is great. The 50cc retails for $1599 and the 90cc retails for $1999 in my area (Kingsport, TN), but this was without any "dealing" If I understand correctly both machines are 2 strokes with a CVT type auto-tranny and rear chain drive. The only drawback to buying something fairly new and rare like the Implus is the lack of aftermarket parts and probably less resale value than a Honda 90 or Suzuki LT-80. But they did look like great machines! Good Luck!

I recently spent a lot of time looking for kids quads checked them all out called several dealers. I was looking at the Impulse but the local dealer who sold them said he had originally bought 6 of them and had to buy htme all back because they kept breaking. I bought the LEM Cayman 50 (It's like a mini 250R with one gear) for the 5yr old and I am looking for a 99 Quadsport 80 for my daughter (she says it has to be a 99 because its purple...Dad). The Qsport has been around for a while and ther are hop ups available for it to. Plus the parts would be easer to get. I liked the Look of the impulse but that story scaried me away.

Is there a web site for the LEM. I looked at the Impuls' today and felt that the 90 was overpriced (2100 in our area). I might go with the 50cc for $1700.00, but I'd like to check out the LEM's.

Well, I would consider the Caymen 50, except my 10 yr. old boy weighs about 95-100 lbs. he's over 4 1/2 ft. tall, and the 50 would REALLY have to work to get him thru a mudpuddle. And, personally, I feel that a machine too SMALL for a person is just as much IF NOT MORE dangerous that a machine too big for a rider. I originally went to the Honda dealership to price a 90cc Fourtrax and a Suzuki 80.. But, after choking on the price, I decided against that, Ya know, you can buy a new Blaster or Trailblazer for what they wanted for the Honda 90... I don't know, maybe he's just gonna have to keep the XR.. for a year or two and then we'll trade it in on a Trailblazer... I did get a chance to price the Impulse 90 over the phone, and its 1999.00 without bargaining or taxes..
