well...I ve ridden tons of quads..all are fun.Want a sport macine....weigh in at 190, 6 foot tall. Have ridden 250 mx bikes for awhile...Looking to spend as little as possible. Will only buy used. Want something with lots of low end power...but eough top end to keep up with a pack of blasters....dont need a rocket, but wont buy a dog. I prefer something older...250x etc...any suggestions...remember price is my main concern....I am a pretty decent mechanic so it really doesnt even need to run...just need to know which models to look for....Thanks

Djinn, of the tons of quads you've ridden, which did you find most satisfactory and closest to meeting your requirements?

Well my friend, if you want to keep up with a pack of blasters, it shouldnt be to hard
id look for a 250 2 stroke or so, i dont think a 250x will kepp up with a blaster, but im not sure, u said u ridden MX bikes, so ull know how to use a clutch and be used to a 2 stroke, id look for lt250r trx250r kxt(ithink) 250 its a tecate 4 is what im lookin for here, uhm a banshee would do more than keep up with blasters, but so will any of the other quads i listed, id look for a 2 stroke from 250 up or a 4 stroke 350 or up (maybe a 300ex, but i dont know) if u want a good 4stroke look at the warrior, but if you want to smoke the hole pack get a Zilla (lt500), brotha!!!
hope this helps

good luck and safe riding with whatever you buy!
hope this helps

okay let's get this strait... anything will keep up with a blaster. A 250X will leave a Blaster in the dust. So if you want to beat a Blaster... buy a quad

I can't speak for all machines but my one friends Blaster would dust my other friends 250X fairly easy.

I have been looking at a 250x...the only problem is the lack of reverse. I try not to get stuck and such...but sometimes it happens...and reverse is nice. I just need to know some super reliable sport type quads..it doesnt have to be cutting edge or super fast...just light, nimble and preferably have reverse....A freind suggested an old 200x...his has run fine for like ten years....anyone know of any problems with them??

To Tree Farmer....thank you for making me realize that not evryone has the same desires in an ATV....I remember the first quad I ever rode was a quadsport 160....and I have never had as much fun on a quad as on that one....I thnik I see a 200x in my future
and It may be slow...but it beats a mountain bike!!!
