Yamaha Raptor 660R vs. Yamaha Grizzly 700 Auto 4x4
#1
Hey! I'm kinda new to ATVs, but I hope to make it a fun future hobby.
My parents have quite a bit of trails on their land. I am going to sponsor them to buy an ATV. The cost of the ATV will not be an issue, since they have money to pay for it and want the best ATV they can get for the money. Their trails are fairly rough with a few very steep inclines and there are even two galleys where water builds up. I'd want an ATV that can handle these conditions and not have a wheel fall off or something. My parents will eventually expand their property (buy more land around them) and therefore have even more trails. They want to be able to get around on their trails - which is the main reason they want to own an ATV. A golf cart wouldn't be able to handle the trails.
I was looking at and reading reviews about ATVs, and found that I like the Yamaha Raptor 660R and the Yamaha Grizzly 700 Auto 4x4. I will probably do some racing in the future and wonder how these would perform. Does the 660R mean its only rear wheel drive or that it can reverse? If its rear wheel drive, does that hinder its performance on rough trails with hills? Would the Grizzly be able to race? How fast can these ATVs go safely on trails?
If you own either of these ATVs, please give me your opinion on them! Thanks!

The raptor 660 and grizzly 660 use the same engine. To my knowledge, there is no grizzly 700. From what you have told us, the grizzly sounds like the much better machine for the job. The raptor is a rear drive, solid axle, high performance sport atv. The grizzly has similar power and can handle the rough terrain much much better than the raptor.
