Buying a 50CC for daughter

The breeze is 125cc the suspension has dual shocks
upfront and single in the rear 50% buy the way of
22inch ballon tires.Trailriding is good but rocky roads and steep hills are not its calling.I was
looking at the honda 90 but it has a pull start
and my kids are lazy.polaris just came out with there mini quads,I really like the look of the
sportsman 90 with the racks(cool)but you'd have to deal with 2stroke mix I'd rather fill and go.
another kids quad i've seen in the mag.is from
panda motorsports they have a 50,80,and a125 with
front and rear racks. All are 4stroke,auto,electric
start with kick backup, idependent strut fronts,
with single rear.Nice looks and features but I
don't know how reliable it is..........

Take a look in the Polaris forum under Scrambler 90. There's some more info being traded in there. We just got my 8 yr old a Sportsman 90. At 55 lbs he's a bit on the skinny side, but this bike is adequate for him with room to grow. One problem is dealers refusing to sell outside of manufacturers recommended ages. I didn't run into this.

We started with a Suzuki LT 50 for my 6 year old. Did well the first year and he outgrew it the next. Even though I have 2 more sons in the wings (now 8,7 and 3) I sold the LT and got a Honda TRX 90 this spring. This is what I'll start my youngest on when he is 5-6. Took a while to find it but got a '96 that was never ridden on trails with a rack for $1,400. 8 year old can start it. Thought I'd miss the elec. start but it always starts easy. I think the 90 will last until he's 12 or so, then we'll pass it down to the others. Don't even think of putting a 6 year old on a 160 or bigger, its unsafe and they don't need it. We ran our 90 in BRF Wis. this summer - 80+ mile days every day for a week - no problems.

Klapper - You must have gotten the bad apple in the bunch. Hondas reliability and durability is well known. Like I said in above post, we ran the TRX 90 on the sand trails in Black River Falls Wis. for a full week this summer. Every day we did 80 miles. We were only limited by the little 90s' top speed of 34 mph, most of the time we ran at 25 mph+.
Here in Tennessee we ride in the foothills of the smokey mts. - pretty rough stuff. The TRX follows our King Quads and only runs into trouble when it straddles a deep rut and bottoms out. It goes through mud, streams(the little sucker floats and bounces on its rear tires if it gets too deep) and climbed up and down rocks - no problems.
Since yours is a 2000, have you taken it back to the dealer? A lack of power or performance or unreliable service is not the norm for this bike. Besides that, $2,700 should get you top performance.

We used to sell the E-Ton, they're the best of the Chinese stuff. But in the end all of the Chinese ATVs including E-Ton are junk. I'd get her a Suzuki LT80, its still a small quad, but it'll haul my 250 pound around with no trouble. Its small, but powerful, and very reliable.

Just bought my 7 year old daughter a suzuki lt80. It's the same cc's as the new Polaris (82cc). I have to say after her riding it every weekend for 3 months it's held up perfectly. I wanted her to have automatic and a foot brake. I was going to get her a breeze, butit only has hand brakes. She weighs 60 lbs and still the lt80 will throw her around if she hits a big enough bump.
I looked for 2 months to find a good used kids quad. No luck! Everything I found was almost the same price as a new one. I ended up getting a 2000 for $1900. Ft Collins Colorado.
I love seeing her smile when she drives it. She's already asking when she'll be able to drive my wife's Warrior.
Try ebay.com there are alot of small quads on there.
