CAREFULL!!!!!! Beware!!! California Red Sticker!
#1
I bought my son a new Suzuki LT 50 2004 at Del Amo Motor Sports in California. I have 3 other bikes in my garage that all have green stickers and I never would buy red sticker bike because we ride at least twice a month. I asked the sales rep if this came with a Green Sticker, he said yes even looked at the vin numbers. I just got my sticker today and it's RED.
I called the dealer and all they could say i sorry. <B>

as far as i know a green sticker lets you ride whener in the summer in the winter and the red restricts the times of year you can go riding and where you can go riding. I think this is right but you might want to ask around

Here is the sticker deal in California.
Red Sticker = allows you only to ride your OHV about from April through October (some locations you can ride extended months.)
Green Sticker = Allows you to ride your OHV Year Round.
The way to tell is by looking at the 8th Digit on the VIN and if you see a 3 or a C That means its a Red sticker Bike.
I had success after dealing with the Sales Manager who was kind enough to take my lt50 back and allow me to trade it in for another bike that would receive a Green Sticker from the DMV

Something strange here I think. When the Red sticker took effect all 2 strokes under a certain displacement were exempted such as the Yamaha PW50. You may be able to get this changed or corrected.

Why not target something that REALLY matters like industrial and/or Railroads? Diesel around here is NUTZ ($.20 more than premium gas) - for road use diesel that is. Guess who's not charged these INSANE rates? They pay pennies on $1000 in property taxes too. I'm getting TIRED of paying for them saving!
