Hi all. After researching ATV information on here (great site!), I have located two dealers for my Polaris purchase. I am purchasing a 2005 Sportsman 500 H.O. and a 2005 Magnum 330 4x2. I'm in the Dallas, Texas area. Best I can do here so far is $10,300 for both out the door (Oklahoma - 2hr drive). I ran across both the Abernathy Cycles (Union City, TN) and Southern Power Sports (Chattanooga TN) - While Abernathy is slightly more, they are much closer. Now, the difference: Their web sites show $9598 and $9482 respectively. That is an $800 for an additional 6 hour drive. Not sure it is worth it for me, but before I go any farther, does anyone have experience with these two dealers? Will they honor their web prices/deals once you get there? I'm thinking I should do some leg work and try to pick them up for $9800-$10k range locally or in Oklahoma.

I am not from your area to give advise on dealers. But what is your time worth? A 6 hour drive plus fuel plus wear & tear on a truck. If you allocate your time at $25 per hour and operating costs on your vehicle at $.75 per mile and include food for the trip, you will eat up 3/4 of your savings in price.

And you still haven't factored in dealer support. I value the good dealer service and support at my local dealer that I am willing to pay a couple hundred dollars more to have priority access to his mechanics.

Your priorities may be different, but my free time is scarce and I would rather be riding instead of wrenching. Therefore, good service is one of my priorities.
