I'm 6' 210 pounds, which of these should I get? I mostly trail ride and like to race with buddies once in a while. The thing I'm worried about most is reliabilty. Right now I'm favoring the Z400 because I like the looks of it best, and heard its great riding and handling bike. but my cousin has a 660 raptor and I don't want to get smoked real bad if I got a Z400. Don't know nothing about the Predator cause I haven't read up on it. Have heard some issues about the Raptor but I think they was fixed by factory in the later models.

I've been happy with my Raptor, and no problems at all since new. My step-bro had a predator, and he said it was a p.o.s., but he never takes care of his stuff anyway. I don't think that there is a bad quad built nowadays, as long as you do proper maintenence. I've not ridden with any of the 400's, but I did ride my buddy's YFZ 450, and it was impressive, but too rough a ride for me, not to mention zero ground clearance.

I really think the Z400, is the best all-around machine out there! They are proving to be as reliable as the 400EX (which is the standard by which all the others are judged). This motor is pretty mild stock, but with a few simple mods, it hops up real nice!
I have never liked the Raptor, because it is so narrow and it carries its weight high in the frame. Kind of tippy in my opinion. I would have to spend thousands of $$$ widening it, but why bother when there are so many other choices. Thrilling motor though.

All around I'd say the z also. That's why I chose it. I didn't have to have the fastest, or the best racing suspension, or the biggest displacement. I wanted something that performed good, had reverse, handled good and had good suspension. In a drag race those other two would beat you if you were all stock. In the trails, you wouldn't have any problem hanging with them. If you look at my list of mods, you'll see they're all simple bolt on mods that really made it a lot more trail worthy and really woke it up. One of the things I had heard when looking around, was that the z responds to mods better than most every other quad. Meaning mod for mod and dollar for dollar, you get a better percentage of horsepower increase.
I researched for 6 months before I decided to go with the z if that tells you anything. Another plus is that it's at the lower end of the price range.

Stock for stock, no the raptor is. Even the 400ex is tourquey-er than the z stock, they're a tractor like motor. Add that big gun cdi with the advanced timing and +1200 rpm limiter like I've got and it's about as tourquey as an ex but way peppier. My z is way more fun to ride than my brother's ex (sold now).
