i bought my daughter a sunl-138 for her birthday back in july. Its a 110cc full auto gas and go. Its been nothing but great, granted she is an 8yr girl that only rides in my yard. But, at less than 600 out the door with dual a-arm soft rubber tires remote shut off alarm and plastics as good as any honda or yamaha, how do you beat that? Ive only had 2 real complaints. One is the battery is cheap if its not ridden once a week then it has to be charged, the second is the shocks are a little hard but then again she only weighs about 70 pounds.
One thing that you have to remember about these bikes, EVERYTHING has to be checked and tightened when you get it and RE tightened after the first couple of rides. With the name brands theres a dealer that does this for you.

Its more than just wrenching. Its quality,
Its the retapping threads becuase there is no craftsmanship in assembly - just torque the crossthreaded bolt into the hole 8000 times a day - nobody cares.
The leather on the seats is as thin a paper
The "fit" or tolerances can be measured on a yard stick
All those lose screws in the bottom of the box came out of somewhere and are not "extra"
That cardboard brake pad is made out of - cardboard
Not having a metal lining on the throttle cable casing means it will wear through and stick. Sometimes WOT.
A brake lever that snaps off at the pivot hole did so becuase it was cold-cast and nobody cared.
Who ever heard of aluminum like lock washers? They do nothing.
Anyone ever heard of "lubricant" or "thread lock"
There is a measurable difference in quality, workmanship, durability and dependability between the "cheap" quads and the "brand name" quads.
You do get what you pay for. Every time. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
IMHO</end quote></div>
i must admit i just bought a new polaris and 10 scres have vibrated out already and it only has 23 hrs!!!!

Hi,
I got a Baja 90cc to learn to ride on for one year as an Xmas present from my parents last year (I was 14 then). He got it on sale for $800, list price was $1200. So when we traded it in to our dealer for the LTR (this was at an ATV show, they wanted to get rid of the LTR because it was an 08, the show was in October 2008), they gave us $1000! So basically it cost me NOTHING to ride it during the summer ($800 + $ for taxes, gas, oil, etc), maybe we even made $50 or $100 on riding it for a summer.
I had no mechanical problems with it, it always ran well, I could get it going up to 47 km/h before the limiter kicked in (this was as far as the limiter would go, if you unplugged it the quad wouldn't start). Sure it wasn't pretty, a 5 foot 8 (at the time) 14 year old looked like an idiot on it (especially in front of the girls near my cottage ), but it ran fine, and I got into the sport on it. It served me well.
The Redcat MPX110A (the new one, check the redcat website) looks really cool! It is like a mini DS650. It looks like it has pretty nice tires, and it comes stock with nerf bars. And it has a centrally mounted exhaust (like my LTR).
