I've raced them, both on the seat and next to them on the starting line. I dont run mx, but on an oval the R is still the machine to beat.
Raptorlegs, you really need to quit while you're behind. Your 5 minutes at the controls of a dead bike with 60 pounds of compression isnt giving you a realistic outlook.

I can't imagine why anybody would want a 2-stroke on tight trails either. JMO, but shifting gets old. Maybe I'm too old.
ps - the last one I was on was modified to race. I know what they are capable of.

I agree the 250Rs dominated the MX tracks for years, and I'm not talking oval tracks either.
All you have to do is go back to older issues of Dirtwheels and others (2-3 years and older) too see what the people on the podiums were winning with.
To say a 250R doesn't belong on an MX track is, sorry, but hillarious.
