Best hill climber/racer? raptor700/Predator500?
#1
I do alot of hill climbing in my neck of the woods and I used to have a 90' Lt 500 which in my opinion was the best of the best as far as hill climbers went. Well I took a few years off from that style of riding and now would like to re-enter it. Obviously I have it narrowed down to two, the Raptor 700 and the Predator 500...I have heard/read that the Predator 500 is no slow poke...Some say it out excellerates all sport quads out there...I obviously want/need speed and excelleration but I also need low end grunt. I am 6'1" at 220lbs. And I ride hard. I really like my Scrambler 400 but it is a completely different style of riding...whenever I try to get r done on the Scarmbler I end up breaking stuff! (Hubs, A-arms, u-joints, Frames, and Bent Axles to name a few of the parts) So I'm a little afraid of the Predators abillity to take abuse...I really don't have confidence in Polaris since I have pushed the Scramblers to the limits since I owned some since 96'. They are good for what they where intended to be used for and that's about it.
Any opinions, guidence, help?
Thanks,
Brent.

The Predator is a pretty tough quad, it won't be breaking like those scramblers. But if you want to be hill climbing I'm going to say to go with the 700R. That quad screams and it has great all around power. But if I were you, I would have stuck with the Quadzilla!

I think it's almost a toss up, but I would also give a slight edge to the 700 on the big hills...low end on them is a monster. I raced one a few weeks ago out at the dunes, and the guy beat me regularly. Course, he had about 50 pounds on me and better skills, but it was still close. If we would of traded machines, I think he still would beat me on my own Predator. It's that close...
Rider skills, right gearing, and consistant hookup, and that will be your winner no matter which one they are on.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the replies. I know I should never have sold the Zilla! I'm going to go and test them both next week when I get more time. I'll most likely have made my final decision by then. I just hope whichever one I go withwill satisfy the need!
Any other opinions?
Thanks,
Brent.
