Default So many decisions

i have limited down my desicions to a yamaha raptor 660, bombadier ds650, honda 400ex, yamaha banshee, polaris predator, or a suzuki z400. I am on a low budget so whatever i get it will be somewat based on the prices, and after i get it i will be broke for a while. I do hills, mud, snow, some feilds, jumps, rocky trails, and some tight trails. which one rules at the most of those things

Where in NY are you? You can get a z400 really cheap at troy city

That's where I got mine, I had to drive three hours/ They were $5099 when I got mine, but last I checked they're down to $4799

well if you trail ride the z 400 is good and the honda to. if you want speed the 660 or ds is the way to go. not the banshee good bike and all but not for the riding you do there good for sand . the ds is kinda wide and the raptor a bit tall .

well it looks like it has to be sometihng cheap now casue im not gettin as much for my warrior, i will have roughly 2500 give or take, im gettin it used and around me that cancells out the ds, raptor w/ slight possiblity, predator and most likeyly the z4 due to price. So it is probablyt the 400ex

thanx

The DS is to huge. The Banshee has terrible suspension (but a thrilling motor!). The 660 is narrow and tippy. The Polaris is, well.....a Polaris.

So that leaves the 400EX and the Z. I like the EX for tight trails, and the Z for more open country. The Z has way more motor though.

With that limited a budget I'd go for an older 400ex. Of course you won't have reverse, but you will have a reliable machine. Any quad for $2500 is going to be ridden pretty hard. Most people will say that if you are going to get something that is older and a little ridden get an air-cooled Honda.

With that limited a budget I don't know if you can find a z400 since they are so much newer. I've seen nice 1999-2001 400ex's in that range.

i'd be deciding between the pred 500 or ds650, 2 friends have preds very nice. my ds is a beast goes whever i want it to. the z400 and 400ex are alittle low on power. cant go wrong with pred or ds

edit- read the post where he was limited to 2500. I'd say keep the warrior untill u can buy somethnig good, does pay to buy a 400ex for 2500 coming from a warrior. sure it will be nicer but it would be better to save and buy a newer better one.
